The signs I have read in this city are unique to a hilly place such as:
Trucks watch tilt
Park at 90 degree angle
There are also the signs of an eco-minded state:
Waste is labelled
Compost
Recycle
Landfill
And the disposable cutlery is biodegradable.
There are the state the obvious signs, such as "End" written above a street name in case if you did not know the street ended. When I first read this signage, I thought it was a political statement, e.g., END Bush, but realized it was misspelled and out-dated.
One of the weirdest signs I saw was in a fancy restaurant, posted where you leave the Ladies' room: "Please adjust your skirt/dress now." I guess too many people were leaving with skirts tucked into stockings, no idea really.
There are also signs in the convention centre. For the posters, there are the TV monitors, but it may as well say "Back of the bus for scleroderma and vasculitis." Not sure why they are always the furthest from the other posters, but I can guess.
There are the other signs outside of the convention centre – not written, but olfactory. It looks like California has embraced medicinal substances / weed at every street corner, likely due to the health conscious behaviour having a trickle effect to those walking the streets during broad daylight.
I won't know if our next Canadian Rheumatology Association (CRA) will be similar due to a change in (Liberal) heart.
