For some of you this is day #3 of the conference and for others it may be day #5+ depending on when you arrived. Yikes!
It's time to learn this morning and if you're awake at 07:30 there are sessions discussing Hepatitis C in 2014, CNS Lupus, and Muscle and Adipose Tissue in Rheumatic Diseases.
The poster sessions kick off at 08:30 with the ACR Late-Breaking Abstract Poster Presentations. At the same time there are a number of sessions of interest on Cardiovascular Diseases in RA, Myositis Mimics, Education, and my favourite … "Macrophages Gone Wild."
The rest of the morning is a little slower unless you signed up for a poster tour, workshop, or a Meet the Professor Session.
At 13:00 the afternoon starts off with the Hench Lectureship: "Why Steroids Work in Some Inflammatory Diseases but not in Others." At the same time there are sessions on the Use of Methotrexate, Regulatory T Cells, Management of Peripheral Neuropathy, and Chronic Low Back Pain.
Starting at 14:30, don't miss the Late-Breaking Abstracts Session. This session is usually quite popular and this year featured discussions will include Secukinumab in PsA, Sifalimumab in SLE, Anti-IL-6 in SLE, and a Phase 2 Trial of a Selective Glucocorticoid Receptor Agonist vs. Prednisone or Placebo in RA. At the same time there are a number of other concurrent abstract sessions covering topics in Education, Rehabilitation, Motivational Interviewing, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Small Molecules in RA, Spondyloarthropathies, Lupus, and Vasculitis.
The day ends with lectures at 16:30 on Autophagy in Rheumatic Diseases, Update on Safety Issues of Medications, and Non-Pharmacologic Strategies in OA.
