Canada Night At ACR 2016

November 15 2016 4:37 PM ET via RheumReports RheumReports

For me, Canada Night is always a highlight of the annual ACR meeting. Organized by the Canadian Rheumatology Association, it is a great way to meet up with Canadian colleagues usually in a nice setting with wonderful food and drinks.

This year did not disappoint. Canada Night was held at the National Press Building on the 13th floor with excellent food, including the best crab cakes in Washington DC so far (my personal fave). I saw friends and colleagues from Newfoundland to BC, connected with my old teachers and mentors from U of T, chatted with friends from industry and marvelled at the young, fresh faces of the rheumatology trainees in attendance.

We heard a short address from our president, Dr. Joanne Homik, with congratulations to Dr. Carter Thorne and Dr. Claire Bombardier on their awards here at ACR 2016, and an invitation to attend the CRA annual meeting in Ottawa next February.

A good night to be Canadian in the US capital!
