Wednesday, June 14, 2017 is the first day of official scientific meeting events. The Europeans do things right with the day starting at 1300 with a Health Professionals Welcome Session that will include information about the conference and other resources. At 1500 things really take off with some splendid offerings across a plethora of rheumatic diseases.

For the Overview of Day #1, Im going to do things a little differently and organize the day into the categories of Basic Science, Clinical Science, Abstract Sessions, HOT & WIN Sessions (How to Treat and What is New), and Practical Sessions. This may give a better overview of the day and provide more relevance when youre deciding what to attend and what to skip!

The day ends at 1830 – time to find your way back to your hotel for a late dinner. Remember the locals eat late in Madrid but don't stay up too late as Day 2 will be fantastic … besides, what's there to do in Spain anyway?
