Proton Rahman, MD is a Clinician Scientist at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he is also Associate Dean of Clinical Research and a University Research Professor. He practices rheumatology at Eastern Health in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Dr. Rahman completed his medical school training as well as his internal medicine residency at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He then completed his rheumatology residency and fellowship, as well as post-graduate training in genetic epidemiology of psoriatic arthritis at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Rahman has a long-standing research interest in the genetics of psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. His current research projects include investigating the epigenetics of spondyloarthritis and the identification of genes using next generation sequencing approaches.
